Google Does Everything

Recently I have been moderately obsessed with customizing my Android smartphone; Android, of course, is developed by Google.  Prior to this, I made the switch from Facebook to Google+, primarily for the features, as well as the integration with other Google products.  My obsession with Google products was getting out of hand.

Avoiding Google is Impossible

I didn't want to look like just some Google fanboy, so I have tried to write about other interests of mine to change the direction of this blog a bit.  My intention is really to write about my interests and my life, which just so happens to include the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as the family's annual Disney trips and any other interesting things that happen to us.  I, sadly, have failed.

It appears I cannot avoid Google if I try.  Last week I wrote about a solar thermal power plant in the final stages of construction in the Mojave desert.  As it turns out, this is one of the projects Google Energy invested in back in 2011.  Later that week I wrote about in vitro meat and how it is going to change the world, research that coincidentally developed a lab-grown hamburger that was eaten at a taste test in London on Monday.  That same day, it was revealed that the $330,000 hamburger project was bankrolled by Sergey Brin, cofounder of Google.  I just laughed when I read this.  No matter what I do, I can't seem to talk about anything other than Google and their many many projects.  My friends who insist I am being paid by Google to promote their services may be onto something.  Now I am just waiting for a check.
